The first time I took my daughter out fly fishing, I had butterflies in my stomach.  It was a tradition that my father and I loved to do at least once a month.  My father loved fly fishing.  He didn’t even like eating that much fish, but he sure did like fly fishing.  

My daughter was reluctant at first.  A young girl waking up at the crack of dawn, getting out into the wide open woods when you haven’t had too much familiarity with it can be a difficult thing.  But she took to it right away, and I’ve added a camping element to our trip with some great high peak sleeping bags.

When I was a kid my dad used to take me fly fishing and it has been a defining factor of my life.  We would wake up early on a weekend morning and head out.  I was always an early riser after this period of my life.  I wanted to be up for every moment. 
 
 My dad worked late nights and we didn’t have time during the week to touch base.  One day he bought me my own fly fishing reel and all of a sudden I felt like an adult.  We were just two guys hanging out and having a good time.  I still go fly fishing to this day.
